Accounts Payable Associate

Support all Accounts Payable operations including, but not limited to, open mail, review vendor invoices and credit memos, code and enter invoices, and ensure all payments are processed in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Assist external vendors and internal customers with invoice payment requests and inquiries. Audit functions such as vendor statement review and preparation of account reconciliations. Actively participate in special projects, including process improvement initiatives.

essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Open all Accounts Payable mail.
• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders (POs) and receivers, ensuring quantities and prices match.
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prepare invoices for data entry into accounting system for payment.
• Print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks; separate and mail checks.
• Distribute signed checks as required.
• Ensure wire transfers are made in a timely manner.
• Assist in the clearing of outstanding accounts payable checks.
• Review outstanding receipts each month and resolve as necessary.
• Maintain accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and files as assigned.
• Assist in developing policies and procedures.
• Prepare metrics for group.
• Participate on special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• General Business knowledge.
• PC proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and financial systems software.
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently.
• Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner through the skillful gathering and analysis of information.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
• At least one year applicable experience in an Accounts Payable position.
