Participate in the strategic planning and leadership of the Zydus Group Companies in US (Americas) , primarily in the areas of organizational design, budgeting, employee life cycle management (acquisition, development and retention), administration, evaluation of human resource practices, policies, and procedures, legal matters and oversight of the Environmental, Health & Safety and Security functions. Streamline and oversee the Group Company's lawful and compliant employment practices, including recruitment, assessment, and hiring; compensation, benefits and welfare programs; employee relations; performance management; affirmative action and diversity programs; corporate culture, and succession planning.

 

essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization's human resource policies, procedures, and practices are in compliance with employment laws by maintaining awareness of applicable federal and state requirements, conferring with legal counsel, implementing necessary changes to remain compliant, and communicating all changes to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain awareness of current human resource best practices; incorporate and/or make recommendations for incorporating best practices and continuously improving the Company's policies, practices, and systems to stay current and competitive in the industry.
  • Participate in corporate strategic planning of the design, structure, and direction of the organization's talent, and the development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people. Maintain staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and periodic review and revision of human resource policies and procedures, and ensure all appropriate individuals receive adequate training to properly implement, administer, and observe those policies and procedures. Ensure current human resource policies, procedures, and forms are available and accessible by managers and employees.
  • Provide general guidance, direction, and leadership to executives, managers and employees in various functional areas regarding human resources and other managerial areas.
  • Participate on internal and external committees, in ad hoc groups, roundtable discussions, or other sessions with senior management, subject matter experts, legal counsel, regulatory agents, consultants, or others, for the purpose of broadening knowledge and ideas, evaluating corporate plans, strategies, or practices, developing action plans or directives, or other business needs.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain accountability for the departmental operating budget within guidelines established by Finance.
  • Direct the development and successful completion of departmental objectives that directly support and enhance overall corporate goals and add value to the organization.
  • Serve as a leader in the Company's corporate culture and values initiatives, in close collaboration with senior leadership, management team, and employees.
  • Oversee the talent acquisition functions of the organization, including all recruitment practices, approval of open positions, applicant processing, contracts with employment agencies, reporting, selection, offer approval, onboarding, and orientation. Monitor progress of all recruitment activities to ensure established goals are met in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the employee relations function of the organization, including regular review of compliance or policy violations, investigations, corrective actions, employee performance issues, rewards and recognition programs, employee status changes, leave management, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, and employee separations. Become involved as necessary to assist in resolving any employee relations matters for the organization.
  • Establish goals, strategies, policies, and practices for an effective performance evaluation program, linked to clear performance indicators, and fairly and consistently administered throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the process of establishing and maintaining current and compliant position descriptions for all positions throughout the organization, ensuring positions are appropriately titled and described in compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations, and accurately state the minimum basic qualifications for the position.
  • Oversee the process of establishing and maintaining current and compliant organization charts and job profile for every business unit within the Region.
  • Direct the Company's compensation programs, including salary administration, conducting market and internal equity analyses, development and administration of bonus and incentive programs, and other forms of compensation. Evaluate and make recommendations for new or changes to existing programs; present cost/benefit analyses to executive team for decision-making purposes. Ensure appropriate reporting of all compensation-related data.
  • Oversee the selection and administration of all benefits programs and vendors; recommend new or changes to existing benefits; present cost/benefit analyses to executive team for decision-making purposes. Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of benefit plan contracts. Ensure appropriate reporting of all benefits-related data.
  • Review the Company's recruitment, compensation, and benefit plans on a regular basis to ensure market competitiveness and equitability to attract and retain qualified, high-potential employees.
  • Oversee and approve the development and dissemination of communications, both internally and externally, on behalf of the Company. May include announcements, memos, newsletters, reports, handbooks, presentations, flyers, and other forms of communication. Work with Company management regarding public announcements and media coverage.
  • Oversee the succession planning activities of the Company by preparing new succession plans for key positions as needed, and regularly reviewing and updating existing plans to ensure the preparedness of the Company for planned and/or unexpected loss of key personnel throughout the organization.
  • Work with the Information Technology function to evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions to continuously upgrade human resource information systems and enable the Company to meet required data management, analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Participate in and provide full cooperation with any internal or external audits, as required for the operation of the Company.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance; coach and counsel employees as necessary.
  • Coordinate, develop, and/or deliver presentations and/or training to various groups regarding human resources or other business topics. Programs may include new employee orientation, supervisory and management training, leadership programs, employee meetings, committee meetings, and other programs or events that may be designed to communicate information or enhance learning and knowledge throughout the organization. 
  • Provide updated reports of ongoing activities to the CEO of Americas for discussion, direction, follow-up and/or approval on all current topics and issues. May include conducting research, preparation and presentation of metrics, or providing analyses and recommendations.
  • Oversee the development and management of the Environmental, Health, Safety & Security departments/functions/programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.
  • Work with Lead HR - Global to achieve overall goals set by Corporate and align policies to match with Corporate polices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain, in conjunction with CEO of Americas and team leads, an annual HR budget inclusive of new initiatives and employee progression planning and Talent Management initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of HR practices, laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills to write and communicate in a clear, concise manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively lead, inspire, motivate, interact with and work with all levels throughout the organization; negotiation skills to persuade in both positive and negative situations.
  • Excellent judgment with ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Collaborative work style; management skills to engage staff in planning, decision making, facilitating and process improvement.
  • PC proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and human resource information systems.
  • Ability to work with executive leadership in developing and executing strategic plans.
  • Ability to work independently and institute improvements that increase workflow.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Over all knowledge of international visa program is preferred  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or the equivalent in pertinent, progressive experience with increased levels of responsibility.
  • Ten years' experience in human resource department leadership in US.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
  • Experience in both manufacturing and office settings preferred
