Financial Analyst

Summary

Provide support and perform tasks related to costing, variance analysis, budget, management reporting, audits, etc.  Assist the management team responsible for pharmaceutical production/reporting.

Eessential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete month end financial closing related activities.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheets and P & L statements.
  • Reconcile the difference between MIS and books for each period.
  • Prepare monthly management information reports.
  • Analyze the cost of operations by reviewing all manufacturing variances.  Ensure manufacturing work order data entry is correct and work with production staff to correct any errors.
  • Reconcile monthly inventories (perpetual records vs. the general ledger) and intercompany shipping accounts.
  • Review the setup and maintenance of standard costs in the financial management system.
  • Oversee the yearly physical inventory process. 
  • Assist with the preparation of manufacturing and standard cost budgets.
  • Provide system support for the financial management system.
  • Support the Director in all areas of the monthly and year-end financial close process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.
  • Prepare annual budget for each department.
  • Coordinate audit activities.
  • Prepare expense and headcount reports for each department and coordinate monthly forecasting process.
  • Validate the savings of company's cost reduction programs.
  • Verify and approve expense invoices.
  • Oversee Capital Spending plans and monitor actual spend against approved budgets.
  • Validate tax charges on expense invoices.
  • Provide necessary assistance for Accounts Payable function.
  • Periodically review overdue outstanding accounts and clear the same.
  • Prepare, validate and monitor month end expense accruals.
  • Responsible for reporting, analysis and leading or participating in other projects as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proficient working knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles/concepts.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • PC proficiency with high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication skills to communicate in a clear, concise manner whether in oral, written or presentation form.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and successfully to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business discipline; or the equivalent in pertinent, progressive experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Minimum three years' financial accounting experience.
  • Financial management system experience (manufacturing systems) preferred.
