Industrial Engineer

Primary Responsibility:

Develop business structures and standardized tools to determine most effective business processes and tools to be used for the manufacture of OSD products. Maintain daily interaction with operating groups to drive productivity and overall equipment effectiveness. Execute time studies by products to determine labor and machine hour's requirements, including tools for capacity model. Develop and institutionalize appropriate metrics including dashboards, scorecards and productivity reporting. Support the design of the Site Master Plan aligned to the LRCP including governance. Design information as well as manufacturing systems for Knowledge Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, and information to make an OSD product
  • Analyze current business processes using a variety of Industrial Engineer, Six Sigma, Lean and Operational Excellence methodologies
  • Develop business tools to support increased productivity
  • Conduct time studies by product to determine labor and machine hour's requirements
  • Develop capacity analysis models
  • Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes
  • Assist in design layout of equipment and workspace
  • Create sustainable tools to manage Site Performance Review
  • Design information as well as manufacturing systems for Knowledge Management
  • Develop control systems that help in analysis of costs and planning of finances
  • Support in setting the foundations for the site governance
  • Develop the Site Master Plan structures for the LRCP
  • Act as change agent to deploy new business structures
  • Communicate results to VP Operations
  • Adhere to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated and applied knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies strongly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function autonomously with limited supervision
  • Proven leadership skills in team formation, root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • PC proficiency using Microsoft Office required; Excel, PPT, and Word. Desired :Visio, Project or Access
  • Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels
  • Manufacturing business acumen

EDucation/Experience

  • A Bachelor of Technology degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Trained
  • Change Management (basic education)
  • Pertinent and progressive manufacturing work experience desired

  1. Sufficient noise to occasionally cause the individual to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level
  1. Individual is in a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and exposure to chemicals
  2. Atmospheric conditions sometimes expose individual to dust, for which protective equipment is available
  3. Individual may be required to wear respiratory devices that include but are not limited to: Air Purifying Respirators (APR) which include half-face and full-face negative pressure respirators, hooded powered air purifying respirators, or Supplied Air Respirators (SAR), which include hooded or full face supplied air respirators
