Summary

Lead and manage internal and external cross-functional project teams in planning, organizing and executing strategic company projects. Coordinate activities between various internal departments and external contractor and consultant business partners.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive formal and informal leadership to promote a positive work environment and communicate overall business expectations to working groups.
  • Establish and document appropriate strategies, deliverables and comprehensive cross-functional project plans (e.g. task analysis, work breakdown structures, time and event schedules, cost projections, resource requirements and risk/contingency plans).
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional team activities to achieve defined project objectives ensuring appropriate monitoring, control and tracking of project status vs. plan.
  • Lead and facilitate communication between cross-functional team members and outside business partners.
  • Organize, manage and motivate cross-functional team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure project performance standards and deadlines are established and met.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and cross-functional communication records (e.g. objectives, timelines, activities, commitments, resources, costs).
  •  Document and report progress, status and issues to project teams and management.
  • Utilize appropriate project management methodology to support/improve processes.
  • Support and contribute to implementation of new project management tools/techniques.
  • Adhere to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of project management, planning/tracking practices, principles, tools and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of cGMPs and other regulatory requirements governing pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills to lead effectively and concurrently on multiple projects in a goal-oriented, timeline-driven, and dynamic work environment while ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences in a clear, concise manner whether in oral, written or presentation form.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative/collaborative cross-functional working relationships.
  • PC proficiency using standard software applications, including Project Management systems. Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex problems and resolve technical issues. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in related technical or business discipline.
  • Four years' directly related industry experience, with two years' experience in the management of projects.
