Provide professional security protection to safeguard the safety and security of people, company assets, and property at assigned company locations.

 

essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Abide by post orders for assigned post to provide security assistance to employees and visitors and to protect property from theft, trespassing, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to maintain security of premises.
  • Utilize computer systems to interact with facility security systems, access control, intrusion detection, and CCTVs.
  • Perform security patrols and assignments on foot and/or driving company vehicle to prevent the theft or misappropriation of any company assets or other items of value. Observe and report any unlawful activity.
  • Issue and track keys.
  • Assist with investigations as assigned and take the appropriate lawful action as authorized on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire.
  • Neutralize situations calmly with tact and common sense.
  • Watch for safety and fire hazards, as well as other security related situations, and report findings.
  • Provide security assistance to employees and visitors.
  • Support the planning and development process for security programs.
  • Perform certain activities as directed in support of security programs, such as emergency response.
  • Maintain professional standards in appearance.
  • Maintain a St. Louis County Private Security Officer License and state issued driver's license.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the security program.

         Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of basic security operations and safety practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an armed security license.
  • Proven, effective communication skills to communicate in a clear, concise manner, both orally and in written form, to include follow through with investigations and written reports.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with an array of individuals, departments and outside vendors.
  • PC proficiency using Microsoft Office required.
  • Must meet and maintain the certification and/or licensure requirements for a private security officer in St. Louis County.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and able to meet minimum requirements set by insurer to drive a company vehicle.
  • Able to work independently, responsibly and without on-site supervision.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; additional Security education/ certification desired.
  • Minimum three years' experience in industrial security required; specific experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Prior law enforcement experience preferred.

Must also have the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  6. Required to exert a negligible amount of force continuously and/or up to five pounds of force frequently and/or up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn if assigned to perform work or tasks in specific production areas.
